Sport Management

Sports is a multi-billion-dollar global industry. If you're looking to get immersed and learn about the fundamentals of business with a focus on sports, this is the right place for you. 

 

Our Sport Management program prepares you for sport management jobs in many unique areas both inside and outside of the industry, from professional sports and intercollegiate athletics to public and private sports clubs.

Program Requirements

As a Sport Management major, you'll study sport and business to get ready to manage your favorite teams, leagues, brands, and facilities. You'll also learn important problem-solving and critical thinking skills while gaining experience and connections in the industry.

You will build your resume and gain industry experience from your first semester on campus with experiential learning and volunteer opportunities in the sports industry. You'll complete a full-time internship before graduation to get real-world experience. You might also consider a data science minor to supercharge your career opportunities.

You'll even be able to explore electives outside of the Sport Management side of things with Core, our groundbreaking general education program.

We created the sport management major for those who desire to play a leadership role within the ever-growing world of sports without necessarily being an athlete.

If you choose to pursue a Sport Management degree, you'll be prepared for careers in and outside many areas of the sports industry. Some possible positions include Event Coordinator, Facility Event Operations, Ticket Sales, Public Relations, Coaching, Parks and Recreation, and Sports Photographer
