WFCF Flagler College Radio

Flagler College's fully functional radio station gives students the chance to learn hands-on.

WFCF 88.5 FM, Radio with a Reason, is a non-commercial, educational radio station staffed by students in the Flagler College Communication Department students and community volunteers. 

WFCF was founded to provide a source of quality radio programming for the greater St. Johns County area and to provide a superior learning environment for students majoring in broadcasting at Flagler College. The station operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • WFCF first went on the air on November 1, 1993
  • WFCF broadcasts 10,000 watts of FM Power to approximately 70,000 listeners each week in Northeast Florida. WFCF also reaches 6,000 listeners each month on iHeartRadio.
  • WFCF broadcasts 24/7/365
  • WFCF is a variety formatted radio formatted station airing 14 genres of music and a variety of talk programming
  • WFCF has collaborated with ESPN, ESPN +, National Public Radio (NPR), and  the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) ,among many others
  • WFCF has conducted hundreds of celebrity interviews ,including Bill Murray, Kevin Costner, John Oats, Ann Wilson, O.A.R., All Them Witches, and many more.

Coverage

WFCF erected its own tower on Dobbs Road in November 2003, which upped the station's transmission wattage to 10,000. The coverage area was also affected, extending south to Volusia County and west to Interlachen. The fringe area includes Port Orange to the south and near Gainesville to the west.
