Where History Begins with the Voices Shaping Tomorrow
Flagler College has proudly launched History Makers in Residence, an immersive new series that brings nationally recognized changemakers to campus to ignite bold conversations around creativity, vision, and leadership. By connecting students, employees, and the community with culture-shaping voices, this program deepens our commitment to transformative learning and inspires the next generation to make their mark.
We kicked things off with two iconic figures: bestselling author R.L. Stine and environmental trailblazer Erin Brockovich, and now we're excited to welcome New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Princess Diaries,” Meg Cabot.

Meg Cabot
New York Times Bestselling Author of “The Princess Diaries,” Meg Cabot joins Flagler College as a Fall 2026 History Maker in Residence. While over 25 million copies of Meg’s 100+ published books have been sold in 38 countries, Meg’s most proud of being banned for speaking out about women’s rights, and for the letters she’s received from fans thanking her for helping them to not only overcome their “dislike of reading,” but their feelings of depression. Her visit will feature a public lecture, a book signing, and meet-and-greet opportunities, offering inspiring, hands-on opportunities to learn from one of the nation’s most influential grassroots advocates.

Erin Brockovich joined Flagler College as a Fall 2025 History Maker in Residence, engaging the campus in powerful conversations on advocacy, the environment, and courageous leadership. Her multi-day visit will feature classroom and community discussions, a keynote, a student-led podcast, and informal meetups, offering inspiring, hands-on opportunities to learn from one of the nation’s most influential grassroots advocates.

R.L. Stine
R.L. Stine served as one of the Fall 2025 History Makers in Residence to engage students, faculty, and staff in creative writing, storytelling, and professional insight. The multi-day visit included informal and academic programming, including a staff workshop.
