Residency Requirement Exemptions
Residency Requirement Exemptions
Students who meet one or more of the exemption criteria for the Fall Term on or before August 1, or for the Spring Term on or before January 1, may submit a Residency Exemption and Contract Cancellation Request Form through eRezLife.
The Housing Contract Exemption Committee reviews all requests and supporting documentation before making a determination. All approved residency exemptions are subject to the applicable cancellation fee schedule.
Students who have not satisfied the residency requirement and do not currently meet any exemption criteria will not be granted an exemption. These students must complete a housing application and reside on campus in accordance with College policy.
Students who are required to live on campus under the two-year residency requirement and fail to complete a housing application will be assigned campus housing and assessed the associated housing and meal plan charges for each semester of the applicable academic year.
Housing Contract Cancellations
Housing Contract Cancellations
The housing contract is binding for the full academic year. Students experiencing extenuating circumstances beyond their control may appeal for a contract cancellation by completing the Residency Exemption and Contract Cancellation Request Form through eRezLife and providing appropriate supporting documentation.
Students must receive approval from the Committee before signing a lease or making any off-campus housing arrangements. Do not sign a lease or make other commitments until you have received official approval. Signing a lease does not guarantee that your appeal will be approved.
The Housing Contract Exemption Committee will review the appeal and determine whether a cancellation will be approved. All approved cancellations remain subject to the deadlines and fees outlined in the Cancellation Fee Schedule.
