At heart, Carly Shaw said she’s an environmentalist with a particular passion for protecting coastlines like the one she grew up on in Ocean City, N.J.

“Farm to Table,” a local Sophomore High Impact Practice (FlagSHIP), recently gave Flagler College students an unmatched opportunity to explore the farm-to-table movement through interactions with regional farmers, gardeners, non-profit organizers, and chefs.

With recent student journalism awards fresh on their minds, incoming co-editors to The Flagler College Gargoyle are eager to continue the student newspaper’s successful track-record and expand the publication’s impact.

For Flagler College junior Pasquale “Puck” Arnone, a summer research internship at the University of Texas at Austin offered a transformative opportunity to combine his passions for environmental science and technology.
