These transformative gifts will enhance opportunities for students and faculty alike, ensuring excellence in education and fostering professional growth.
A portion of the gift, $25,000, will support the establishment of the Don M. Fox Endowed Scholarship for FlagSHIP, which will provide scholarships for students participating in the FlagSHIP (Flagler Sophomore High Impact Practice) course. This contribution will be matched one-to-one through a grant from the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust, doubling its impact and expanding access to this vital program.
The remaining $65,000 will create an annual Faculty Support Fund and the Don M. Fox Endowed Fund for Scholarly and Creative Excellence, both in the School of Business. These funds will provide resources for the dean to support current faculty and recruit new talent through professional development stipends, travel grants, and other initiatives designed to promote academic excellence.
“Don’s commitment to Flagler College reflects his dedication to fostering student success and faculty excellence,” said Dr. Art Vanden Houten, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “His generous support will make a significant impact, helping our students achieve their potential and ensuring our faculty remain leaders in their fields.”
A longtime supporter of Flagler College, Fox has been a founding member of the Business Advisory Board since 2015, serving as its past chair, and is a former member of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Advisory Board. He is the retired CEO of Firehouse Subs.
Reflecting on his gifts, Fox shared, “Flagler College has always stood out as a place that inspires growth, innovation, and leadership. It’s an honor to give back to an institution that shares my commitment to excellence and to help both students and faculty thrive in their endeavors.”
