Become a Resident Advisor

• Complete all required application materials.
• Submit a written application through flagler.erezlife.com
• Have been enrolled at Flagler College as a full-time student (at least 12 credits).
• Adhere to the Student Code of Conduct at all times and maintain good student conduct standing through the length of their employment.
• Have and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and a GPA of 2.0 each semester.
• Candidates who successfully meet the requirements above will be invited to participate in a two-part RA interview process. Additional information regarding the interview schedule, format, and expectations will be shared with candidates who advance to the next stage of the selection process.

What to Wear:

Candidates are encouraged to arrive dressed in business casual attire and ready to put your best foot forward. Need outfit inspiration or assistance? Visit the Career Closet! Students can explore professional clothing options available to them. Students can choose one outfit a semester from a range of gently used business clothes, like suits, dresses, pants, skirts, blouses, and blazers. 

How to Prep:

During your RA interview, you will be asked situational and scenario-based questions. These questions ask you to think about how you would respond to a realistic situation you may encounter as an RA. You don't need to have experienced every situation before! Instead, think about examples from your past that demonstrate skills like leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and empathy.

A great way to prepare is to use the STAR method:

S - Situation: What was happening, and give context for your example.
T - Task: Explain your specific responsibility, goal, or the challenge you needed to address.
A - Action: What did you do? Share the actions you personally took to solve the problem.
R - Result: Share the outcomes or final results of your efforts.

Being selected as an Alternate RA recognizes your potential to be a strong student leader within the Flagler College community! Alternates are part of our RA selection pool and may be offered an RA position if a vacancy becomes available based on staffing needs and community needs.

Selection as an Alternate does not guarantee an RA position. If a position becomes available and you are offered and accept the role, you will be required to live on campus and fulfill all expectations and responsibilities of the RA position.
