The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum will kick off the Fall 2020 season with a solo exhibition by M. Florine Démosthène, entitled “Always in All Ways.” The exhibition will be on view from Sep. 6 through Oct. 22, 2022 and will include twelve new mixed media works on paper and new sculptures. Démosthène will give a walkthrough of the exhibition in conjunction with First Friday Art Walk on Friday, Oct. 20th at 5 p.m.

Over spring break, while many college students opted for rest and relaxation, Flagler College students packed their bags and headed north—not for vacation, but for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Since 2005, Flagler College has hosted communication week as one of its campus traditions. Started by Rosemary Tutt, COM week aims to give students an opportunity to network with professionals, just like students in bigger schools and cities would.

When you imagine the face of a donor, the vision that emerges is rarely one of a young, 20-something year-old man fresh out of college. But James Mernik (’21) is that donor.  

Elaina Wahl-Temple, Resident Designer and Adjunct Professor, has been at Flagler College for 14 years. She has designed costumes for more than 45 productions. In addition to teaching, Wahl-Temple is an award-winning director and choreographer.

In a departure from traditional capstone projects, two honors students from Flagler’s Hospitality & Tourism Management (HTM) program set a new precedent for collaborative academic endeavors at the College.

After a couple of twists and turns in the film and television business, Flagler alumna Meredith Brace Sloss, ‘07, landed at none other than Lucasfilm, home to “Star Wars” and, of course, Baby Yoda.

For more than a decade, Florine Démosthène has explored the concept of love that we all chase but never fully understand through conversations with close friends and strangers from her travels. “As I reflected on a lot of the conversations I had over the years, it’s always a battle between a religious version of love, a traditional version of love, and a modern version of love,” she said.

Flagler College was recently awarded the Gold Level Award for 2022 Healthiest Companies by the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council (FCWWC) for creating a culture of health and wellness within the organization. Award recipients were honored at the Annual First Coast Worksite Wellness Conference on June 8, 2022, at the University of North Florida.
