Flagler College claimed the number two spot in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-2023 Best Colleges guide for Best Regional Colleges in the South. This recognition brings the College up two spots from its 2021-2022 number four ranking in this category.

Flagler College is pleased to announce its hold in the top three Best Regional Colleges of the South, and two new ranked accolades from the 2023-2024 U.S. News and World Report rankings.

Dr. Courtney Kersten is an Assistant Professor of English. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Literature and Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was a Fulbright Fellow to Riga, Latvia, and is the author of Daughter in Retrograde (University of Wisconsin 2018).

Flagler College recognized two of its outstanding alumni for their commitment to the College and their professional success at the 24th annual Alumni Awards luncheon on May 16, 2025. This year’s winners included: Laura Neal, ‘98 – Professional Achievement Award, and Ed Lombard, ‘97 – Flagler College Service Award.

Flagler College Forum on Government and Public Policy will present a lecture by host of The Open Mind PBS podcast, Alexander Heffner, on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Virginia Room on the second floor of the Student Center. His presentation will dive into what “Civil Discourse in an Uncivil Age” looks like in the divisive realm of modern politics and public affairs.
