Growing up in Polk County, Fla., Hunter Miller has always appreciated the natural world. But it wasn’t until 2017 that he was able to use this respect for the Earth to fuel his career. Miller graduated from Flagler College in 2011 with a degree in Public Administration, and now serves as Field Campaign Manager at Oceana.

When you imagine the face of a donor, the vision that emerges is rarely one of a young, 20-something-year-old man fresh out of college. But James Mernik, '21, is that donor. Upon inheriting a giving account from his late grandparents, Mernik was tasked with perpetuating their lifelong interest in philanthropy.
