Have you ever wondered what makes the holiday season truly magical? For Flagler College students, it's the quirky and heartwarming traditions that fill this time of year with nostalgic festivity.

Dr. Courtney Kersten is an Assistant Professor of English. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Literature and Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was a Fulbright Fellow to Riga, Latvia, and is the author of Daughter in Retrograde (University of Wisconsin 2018).

Of all the changes happening at Flagler College, one of the most unique will be the addition of an innovation center that promises to be much more than just a place for expensive technology and 3D printers.

Kip Taisey is the Tom Kenan Associate Professor of Music at Flagler College, where he directs the Music and Musical Theatre Programs in the Department of Performing Arts. He joined Flagler in the fall of 2015 after a decade-long professional acting career, including five years in New York City.

It stands for Flagler Sophomore High Impact Practice, an academic initiative for second-year students that is aimed at improving the student learning experience. But at its core, it's about something even more powerful: preparing students for a diverse world, and even making a difference within it.

Derik Boik's dreams of making it big as a stand-up comedian began a unique professional journey that has now led him to a career in story producing for hit shows like the Netflix series, “Queer Eye,” and most recently “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”

Flagler College is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Yonai as the new Director of the Brown Innovation Center (BIC). Yonai succeeds Freytag Associate Professor of Economics Allison Roberts, the founding director, who has stepped down for a research sabbatical this fall.
