With recent student journalism awards fresh on their minds, incoming co-editors to The Flagler College Gargoyle are eager to continue the student newspaper’s successful track-record and expand the publication’s impact.

For more than a decade, Florine Démosthène has explored the concept of love that we all chase but never fully understand through conversations with close friends and strangers from her travels. “As I reflected on a lot of the conversations I had over the years, it’s always a battle between a religious version of love, a traditional version of love, and a modern version of love,” she said.

Flagler College will celebrate the academic and personal accomplishments of more than 500 graduates in the Class of 2024 with a Commencement Ceremony at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Sunday, May 5, at 9 a.m.

Students in Flagler’s Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) Program have the advantage of studying in a city and state with markedly robust tourism industries. The backdrop of St. Augustine’s tourism industry is a built-in training ground for HTM students and Flagler is less than 100 miles from another hotspot of Florida tourism- Orlando. On a recent excursion from campus, HTM students had the opportunity to visit Universal Orlando Resort and learn about what it takes to run such a high-level tourism venture.

On June 23rd, the Science Advisory Board of Flagler College hosted the Science Sunset Cruise, aboard the luxury catamaran, Sabrage, to benefit the college's growing Coastal Environmental Science & Biology programs.

When you imagine the face of a donor, the vision that emerges is rarely one of a young, 20-something year-old man fresh out of college. But James Mernik (’21) is that donor.  

Since 2005, Flagler College has hosted communication week as one of its campus traditions. Started by Rosemary Tutt, COM week aims to give students an opportunity to network with professionals, just like students in bigger schools and cities would.
