January 27, 2026
With the 2026 spring sports season on the horizon, Flagler College Athletics received an unprecedented wave of preseason recognition, as four Saints programs were selected as conference favorites in their respective preseason polls.

Men’s lacrosse, men’s tennis, and women’s tennis were each picked to finish first in the Peach Belt Conference, while women’s lacrosse was chosen as the favorite to win the Gulf South Conference.

Men’s Lacrosse

The Flagler College men’s lacrosse team was selected as the preseason favorite in the Peach Belt Conference Coaches’ Poll after earning four first-place votes. Five Saints were named to the preseason all-conference team: Trace McDonald, Jack Pilla, Ben Nyberg, Griffin Moore, and Gordon Ogden III.

Flagler is coming off a 14-3 season, including a 2-1 mark in conference play, and a run to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament final, setting high expectations for the 2026 campaign.

The Saints will open the season on the road Saturday, Jan. 31, against Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach. Flagler’s home opener is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, at 1 p.m. against top-ranked Tampa at Flagler Lacrosse Field.

Women’s Lacrosse

The Flagler College women’s lacrosse team was selected as the unanimous preseason favorite to win the Gulf South Conference for the fourth consecutive year. The Saints received all five possible first-place votes and placed six players on the preseason all-conference team.

Flagler is coming off a 13-6 season, including a perfect 4-0 record in conference play, and captured both the Gulf South Conference regular-season and tournament titles for the third straight year. The Saints also advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament and will be seeking their fourth consecutive regular-season and postseason conference championships in 2026.

Flagler will open the 2026 season Saturday, Jan. 31, at noon, hosting Emmanuel University at Flagler Lacrosse Field.

Men’s Tennis

The Flagler College men’s tennis team was selected as the preseason favorite in the Peach Belt Conference for the third consecutive year. Three Saints were named to the preseason all-conference team: Ilian Borlee, Simon Malis, and Aniss Rafiq.

The Saints are coming off a 20-3 season that included a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play. Flagler has won three of the past four Peach Belt regular-season titles and captured each of the last two conference tournament championships.

Flagler will open its schedule with an exhibition match against Millenia Atlantic at the Pollard Tennis Center on Friday, Jan. 23, at 3 p.m. The competitive season opener is set for Friday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. against Belmont Abbey, also at the Pollard Tennis Center.
