Faculty and Staff Retirements at Flagler

Flagler College said goodbye to some long-running faculty and staff members this year including:

Terry Bennett

Supervisor of Mailroom Services

Bennett started working at Flagler College in 1995, and in nearly 30 years, got to know thousands of students, alumni, faculty and staff heading up the Mailroom. He was known for more than just handling their mail, but also for caring about everyone who walked through the Mailroom doors.

Lynn Brueske-Walton

Associate Professor of Psychology

Brueske-Walton is a State of Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor, a National Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a regular presenter at local, regional, and national mental health forums and conferences.

Agnieszka (Aggie) Johnson

Assitant Professor of Spanish

Johnson brought wide international experience and passion for languages to her classroom. Believing that to learn a language successfully a student must be immersed in language and culture, she led many study abroad programs in Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico and Spain. In 2016, she received the Florida Association for International Educators Award “You Make a World of Difference.”

Tracey Eaton

Associate Professor of Communication

Eaton is an award-winning journalist and visual storyteller. He has worked throughout Latin America and is a former Fulbright scholar in Ecuador. He headed Dallas Morning News bureaus in Mexico and Cuba from 1994 to 2005. Eaton served as chair of the Communication Department from August 2018 through June 2021.

Jeff Knight

Assistant Professor of Accounting

Knight earned a Master of Tax Accounting and his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama. He brought a long career in business and industry to his teaching service at Flagler College. He has served as a senior executive of public and private corporations.

Tracy Upchurch

Associate Professor of Law and History

Upchurch spent 25 years as a practicing attorney, served as a Florida state representative and as a mayor of the City of St. Augustine. He used this impressive practical knowledge and experience in law in his classes, as well as during his time as Director of the Law Program. Upchurch also taught American history courses at Flagler.
