“Receiving a scholarship during my college years was a profound blessing,” he said. “It was a tangible reminder of God’s provision through the generosity of others, and it reinforced my belief that faithful giving can have a lasting impact on a student’s life and future.”
That belief stayed with him after graduation. While working as a Senior Financial Analyst at Rulon International, Vasquez was challenged by the company’s owner to live out the values of generosity and service, rather than wait for success to become more secure over time. “He reminded me that God calls us to be faithful stewards of what we have now, not only what we hope to have later,” Vasquez said.
Inspired by these words, he decided to establish the Bryant Vasquez Endowed Scholarship for Business Administration. Having earned his Bachelor’s in Accounting and volunteered on the judging panel of entrepreneurial events like Lion’s Cage, the designation was a natural choice.
“It’s a versatile field that opens doors to many paths,” Vasquez said. “For some students, it is a starting point when they may not yet have clarity. I want to support those individuals by encouraging them to stay committed, remain curious, and recognize potential when they discover an area that truly resonates with them.”
Vasquez’s vision for the scholarship extends beyond academics. He wants recipients to leave Flagler not only with professional preparation, but also with a deep sense of encouragement and confidence in themselves.
“I want them to understand that they are supported by people who genuinely believe in their potential and want to see them succeed,” he said. “More importantly, I hope they come to believe that themselves.”
For Vasquez, generosity is like a ripple that grows over time, extending beyond one person. “True success carries forward through families, communities, and generations,” he said.
He hopes that his scholarship supports students now while planting a seed for their own future acts of giving.
As one of Flagler’s youngest alumni donors, Vasquez also wants his story to reframe how students and fellow young alumni think about philanthropy. “Giving to the College is an investment in the future,” he said. “As students, it can be easy to forget that we are actively becoming that future.”
Having been a student and scholarship recipient himself not long ago, he knows firsthand how powerful donor support can be, regardless of size. “Meaningful impact does not come only from large donations,” he said. “It also comes from consistent, thoughtful contributions from individuals who give what they can. If you can help even one person experience the same support you received, that investment can change a life.”
