A note from the chair
Congratulations on selecting a rewarding career in Education! We welcome you to an academic department where faculty members exemplify the teaching experience in delivering content and providing support.
Our Flagler graduates have distinguished themselves, becoming Teachers of the Year and Rookie Teachers of the Year due to their preparation in Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education/Elementary Education (ESE/Elem), Education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Elementary Education (Deaf Ed), Secondary Education: English, or Secondary Education: Mathematics.
The Florida Department of Education has approved all of Flagler's education programs. Therefore, upon graduation, you will be certified in your major, dual certified in ESE/Elem and Deaf Ed, and receive endorsements in ESOL and REading (except math).
Join us and experience the many opportunities we provide to be in classrooms in St. Johns County, Fla., from your first semester in your respective program until your last intern semester, where you can choose to be placed in classrooms throughout Florida or travel outside of the U.S. to teach abroad.
In Flagler's Education Department, we are committed to ensuring you have the ability, knowledge, and compassion to reach all children who will one day be in your classrooms through our high-quality programs and supportive environment.
Sincerely,
Dr. Edwidge Bryant, Ph.D.
