Our secondary English program empowers you to earn both an English degree and Secondary English education certification for grades 6-12.  Once you finish your coursework and state exams, you'll be eligible for reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsements. And our practicum course will give you real classroom experience in a high-demand field. Read on to learn more.

Receive an individualized education with small classes and caring faculty who are here to mentor and guide you every step of the way.

In our Secondary Education program, we offer professional education and teaching courses to prepare you for a middle or high school English classroom. You'll also get practical, hands-on experience with a practicum course in St. Johns County public schools or other approved districts.

You'll also earn an English degree. Explore British and American literature, literary criticism, short stories, and dramas, and everything from Shakespeare to modern American classics.
