Program Requirements

You'll forge your own path with diverse, colorful courses that sharpen your critical thinking skills and deepen your command of the English language. We offer a minor and a major leading to a bachelor's degree. You can choose your path with two tracks, Literature or Creative Writing. Or, complement any major with a minor in Creative Writing.

If writing is your passion, we have your passion project. As a student, you can work with FLARE, a student-produced literary journal. Or, find opportunities to publish your work in the award-winning Gargoyle student newspaper. If you prefer hands-on experience, try an internship with local newspapers, radio stations, area magazines, or the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce

Academic opportunities also abound here. Our English majors have published their work,  presented at conferences, and joined Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society.

Every student at Flagler College also gets a broad-based education with Core, our groundbreaking general education program. At Flagler, we're dedicated to educating the whole person. We foster intellectual, social, and personal transformation in our students.
