Bariaa Ghazi Shatila
Professional Profile
Professor Shatila earned her Educational Specialist in Mathematics Education degree from Florida State University and her Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics from Jacksonville University.
She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida.
She became a full-time faculty member at Flagler College in 2004. Professor Shatila has served as the Math & Technology Department Chair from 2006-2015. Her commitment to teaching is exemplified in a wide range of educational service initiatives and curriculum development projects.

Professor Shatila has been professionally engaged in several professional organizations including the American Mathematical Society, Mathematical Association of America, National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, and International Conference on Technology in Collegiate Mathematics. She has attended, presented, and organized several conferences in her discipline and is the recipient of the Dean’s Award for Leadership and Service 2014-2015.
