The Department of Health and Wellness is comprised of Health Services, Counseling Services, Campus Assessment, Referral and Evaluation (CARE) Team, Case Management, and Community Outreach and Education.

We embody a collaborative vision of holistic wellness that addresses the needs of a diverse student population through the provision of services that address and support the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs of students. This begins with an integrative approach that supports the awareness and knowledge of the role health and wellness plays in the success of students and the rise in demand for these services on campus.

Mary Tinlin

Mary is in her 32nd year at Flagler. She has held a variety of positions within the student affairs division including; Director of Student Activities, Assistant Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Counseling & Residence Life, Associate Dean of Counseling and in her current position oversees the CARE Team, Case Management and Outreach/Education Services, Counseling Services, and Health Services. She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State and her M.Ed. in counseling from the University of North Florida. In her personal time, she enjoys reading, fitness activities, traveling and the company of friends and family.

Andrea Adams-Manning, ED. D.

Dr. Andrea Adams-Manning (a.k.a. Dr. Dre), is originally from Michigan, though has resided in Jacksonville since 2011. She has her bachelors in Secondary Education from Saginaw Valley State University, her Master in Education, with a concentration in College Student Affairs Leadership from Grand Valley State University, and her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Florida. Dr. Dre has 19 plus years of experience working with college students while serving as a Dean of Students, Assistant Dean, Ombudsman, Conduct Officer, Residence Life Coordinator, Adjunct Professor, and Advisor for student organizations. She has joined the Flagler College community to have the opportunity to work directly with those students who need assistance the most by serving as our Director of Case Management, Education & Outreach. In her personal time, she likes to cycle, paddleboard, lift weights, go to concerts, and stream some good shows.

EMILY BROWN

Emily is currently the Administrative Assistant in Counseling and Health & Wellness Services. She graduated Flagler College in 2019, majoring in Psychology with Marketing and Fine Arts minors, and is presently completing her Master of Arts in Psychology through the Chicago School of Professional Psychology as well as fulfilling ministerial ordination. Prior to joining Flagler, she spent two years as a compliance analyst. Emily is also a certified Hatha yoga instructor. She is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and is now realizing her dream of living by the beach in Saint Augustine.

Amanda Elyse Bleak, M.S., LMHC

Amanda Elyse Bleak currently serves as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the Flagler College Counseling Center. She joins us from Flagler Hospital where she passionately served patients in crisis in the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health Unit. Prior to that, she has over a decade of experience working with individuals and families with an array of mental health challenges, as well as sexual abuse survivors.
Amanda earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida and her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is licensed to practice in the state of Florida.
Amanda specializes in Trauma and utilizes evidenced based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization Movement (EMDR) and is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to facilitate her clients to work towards healing and closure. Other areas of interest and expertise include anxiety & depression, family dynamics & boundaries, including biological, blended & adopted, ADHD, self-harm, Baker Act & Marchman Act processes.

Liz Overpeck

Liz Overpeck is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida. She obtained her masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and she earned her bachelor of science degree in psychology from Florida State University. Liz has five years of therapy experience in a variety of treatment contexts including the educational system (K-12 and university), private practice, community based mental health, and outpatient substance abuse treatment.
Liz is specialized in the treatment of anxiety with a particular interest in the treatment of social anxiety disorder. She is pursuing an advanced certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy. In addition to CBT, Liz often utilizes Solutions Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Liz offers her clients a healthy balance of acceptance and empathy paired with therapeutic challenges towards growth. She finds it deeply meaningful to support clients towards well-being, relational healing, and empowerment.

LAURA (BETH) HUBBARD

Beth is currently an intern pursuing a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville University. Originally from Virginia, Beth received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Virginia Intermont College and was a middle school teacher for 17 years.
Beth’s love of the ocean and distaste for cold winters led her to relocate to Florida and begin her journey to a new career. She plans to focus on child and adolescent counseling as well as play therapy.

Holly Doucette

Holly has worked at Flagler College Health Services for 25 years. During that time, she went back to school to gain her advanced degree to better serve the students of Flagler. Holly received her registered nurse credentials from Florida State College, her undergraduate degree from Florida State University and her master's from the University of South Alabama where she obtained her Family Nurse Practitioner credentials.
Holly loves working with the student population and finds satisfaction in educating students about prevention and good choices, treating anxiety, depression, women's health, and minor illnesses.
In her free time, Holly enjoys fitness, yoga, her grown children, grandchildren, and travel.

Kara is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but has lived in St. Augustine since the mid 90’s. She studied Sociology at the University of Cincinnati and received her Registered Nurse Degree at Daytona State College. Kara has over 20 years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida. She loves working with college students. Kara is very passionate about nutrition and holistic medicine. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling on her sailboat, and going to artisan markets with her daughter.

Drusilla(Dru) is a native of Birmingham, Al, she and her husband have lived in St Augustine for 17 yrs. Dru has a BS in Criminal Justice and a Master Certification in Holistic Medicine. Her passions are: Creating and compounding alternative remedies and recipes, exercising, swimming, traveling, reading and dancing. Dru has worked in the Medical Field as an Office Manager/Admin Assistant for over 10 yrs.
