Olivia's History-Making Moments
Describe your central passion(s) and how you hope to carry that into your post-grad plans:
Studying the law is something that I grew a passion for in my time at Flagler. I have seen how impactful the law can be for individuals and society as a whole. It is such an interesting, complex field and I cannot wait to continue studying the law next year at Pace University.
What (or who) helped inspire your passion in this area (or areas)?
Professor Moser taught the first law class that I took at Flagler which began my passion for studying the law; she also taught many of the law classes I was lucky enough to take in my time at Flagler. Her knowledge and passion motivated me every day to pursue this field. My time in the Student Government Association contributed to this as well. By seeing what a group of students could do to impact this campus, I am driven to continue this momentum by studying the law and one day, hopefully making a difference in the world.
Briefly tell us the story of one stand-out memory from your time at Flagler that will always make you smile:
One of the coolest things I got to do through SGA was attend the National Association for Campus Activities conference in Pittsburgh. We got to talk to other student government leaders and see a lot of really great performances that we can bring back to Flagler. I am grateful for that opportunity and will always have fond memories of it.

What academic resources, experiences, or mentors proved most valuable throughout your Flagler experience?
All of the professors that I had throughout my time at Flagler had a great impact on me. Namely, I have had Dr. Bracewell almost every semester. She comes to class every day with a deep passion for whatever she’s teaching that is truly inspiring. Professors like her who care so much about what they do have shaped me into a better learner and a better person.
What is one piece of advice or lesson you learned about the college experience that you wish you could tell your freshman year self?
Don’t be so scared to put yourself out there! I got involved and made friends during my first year, but I can think of more than a few events that I skipped because I was anxious about going. I wish I could tell myself three years ago that everyone else is probably nervous too, and I should step out of my comfort zone more often. Once I started doing that, I never regretted it.
Tell us about what you’re up to next! Any cool experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up after graduation?
I’ll be starting law school at Pace University this August!
