Paula Seymour, assistant professor of Business Administration and director of the Social Entrepreneurship Program, encourages socially and environmentally conscious entrepreneurs and business leaders to consider a circular economic approach that embraces the triple bottom line. She inspires compassionate, regenerative, and responsible leaders to create prosperous and inclusive ‘life economies’ through spiritual decision-making and conscious leaders for systems change, regeneration, and organizational renewal.

This fall, Flagler College is proud to host a one-day conference, “Panama and its Indigenous People,” as a part of National Hispanic Heritage month on Oct. 15 across various campus locations. The conference is coordinated by Dr. Eugenia Charoni, associate professor of romance languages at Flagler.

It was Spring Break 2018, and while other college students were gearing up for a beach vacation, Courtney Boyle was off to Los Angeles for a study away trip with six Flagler classmates and professors Yvan Kelly and Allan Marcil. The objective was to learn more about the entertainment industry. But for Boyle, it would be the chance to see what would eventually be her future workplace: “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

A new tradition is unfolding for Flagler College seniors. This year, graduating seniors enjoyed the first Baccalaureate ceremony, followed by a Senior Celebration. The Baccalaureate reception allowed seniors to celebrate their achievements with the professors and faculty members who aided in their success during their time at the college.

Flagler Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Courtney Kersten
Dr. Courtney Kersten is an Assistant Professor of English. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Idaho and a PhD in Literature and Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She was a Fulbright Fellow to Riga, Latvia, and is the author of Daughter in Retrograde (University of Wisconsin 2018).
