Join ADAPT and Flagler College at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum on June 2 for a live, in-person panel discussion on climate change, how it’s impacting cultural resources in the city of St. Augustine, what’s being done about it, and how artists can use their work to both spread awareness about climate change and call for action.

For Flagler alumnus Justin Bergh, ‘04, sports have always been about community. Bergh has had a deep appreciation for sports, long before he became General Manager of CrossFit in 2022.

The Flagler College Kenan Lecture Series will present a lecture by assistant professor of art history and Latinx and Latin American studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Joe Hartman on March 30, 2022, at 6 pm in the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum.

The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum will kick off the Fall 2020 season with a solo exhibition by M. Florine Démosthène, entitled “Always in All Ways.” The exhibition will be on view from Sep. 6 through Oct. 22, 2022 and will include twelve new mixed media works on paper and new sculptures. Démosthène will give a walkthrough of the exhibition in conjunction with First Friday Art Walk on Friday, Oct. 20th at 5 p.m.

After a couple of twists and turns in the film and television business, Flagler alumna Meredith Brace Sloss, ‘07, landed at none other than Lucasfilm, home to “Star Wars” and, of course, Baby Yoda.

The Gargoyle, Flagler’s student-run newspaper, placed in two categories for the Society of Professional Journalists 2022 Sunshine State Awards and was a finalist in five categories for the 2022 SPJ Region 3 Mark of Excellence Awards.

From impeding on their food sources to creating issues with bringing clean water into the household, the Middle Eastern country of Jordan has been learning how to navigate these impacts through scientific solutions and communicating the need for change to their people.

For more than a decade, Florine Démosthène has explored the concept of love that we all chase but never fully understand through conversations with close friends and strangers from her travels. “As I reflected on a lot of the conversations I had over the years, it’s always a battle between a religious version of love, a traditional version of love, and a modern version of love,” she said.

As a woman making her way in male-dominated careers, Jennifer Michaux, '08, has accumulated a long list of “first female” accomplishments. In March 2021, however, she snagged a big one when she was appointed chief of police for the city of St. Augustine.
