Bats may be some of the most mysterious residents of St. Augustine’s Fish Island Preserve, but a team of undergraduate researchers from Flagler College is bringing their secret world into focus.

Flagler College is pleased to announce a generous $60,000 pledge from Adela E. and Henry Gonzalez, which will establish the Adela and Henry Gonzalez Annual and Endowed Scholarships for Global Education in the School of Business.

Flagler College’s School of Creative Arts and Letters is home to some of the most talented artists in the world. Each holiday season, the College celebrates this creativity by featuring a student artist whose work captures the spirit and sense of community that defines Flagler. This year’s holiday card was designed by Alizé Cardot, a senior whose expressive illustrations reflect the imagination, warmth, and heart of Flagler College. The College is proud to showcase her work this season.

Flagler College will welcome the community for the premiere of Preserving the Ponce, a new documentary celebrating the history and restoration of the former Hotel Ponce de Leon, on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Lewis Auditorium. The screening will be followed by an open house of the newly renovated Ponce Hall, giving guests a first look at restored spaces and new interpretive exhibits inside one of America’s most iconic landmarks.

For the Spring 2026 semester, Flagler College is delighted to announce that celebrated author, editor, and teacher Rita Bullwinkel will serve as its Storyteller in Residence.
