Art & Design
Graphic Design
A Macintosh computer is strongly recommended, as this is currently the industry standard, although any computer that meets or exceeds Adobe Creative Cloud technical requirements is acceptable. Graphic Design majors have access to three Macintosh labs, two of which are available 24/7, so having your own computer isn’t required, and you will have access to the programs you need. Having your own computer will be significantly more convenient, especially for students who are living off-campus.
Fine Arts
It is recommended for students to have their own Macintosh computer that meets or exceeds Adobe Creative Cloud technical requirements. Computers are not used for the majority of the required courses for the Fine Arts Major. There are, however, courses such as Photography I, Video Art, Book Arts, Image Studio, and Illustration I that heavily use computers. Like Graphic Design Majors, Fine Art Majors also have access to three Macintosh labs, two of which are available 24/7, so having your own computer isn’t required, and you will have access to the programs you need. Having your own computer will be significantly more convenient, especially for students who are living off-campus.
