Lifelong Learning

The mission of the Flagler College Lifelong Learning Institute is to offer a wide and varied selection of courses, seminars, events, and workshops that are designed to stimulate and foster knowledge-sharing and relationship-building for the St. Augustine community and beyond. It is a humanities-focused program that includes topics in history, art, art history, culture, language, music, religion, film, nature/environment, archaeology, travel, politics, literature/writing, special topics, St. Augustine history, and FL history. Flagler College Lifelong Learning is proud to offer travel experiences that include 4-5-day long weekend trips and 8-10-day trips outside of the US. The trips are designed and led by Flagler faculty and encompass their expertise and academic knowledge.

As part of Flagler College, the Lifelong Learning Institute works with the faculty of Flagler College and experts in the community, who lend their expertise through courses, seminars, and special events. Courses start at $60 ($49 for Lifelong Members), and seminar and event fees range from free to $55. Individuals do not need to be a member of Lifelong Learning to participate in courses, seminars, or special events. The program is open to those 18 years or older.

The Lifelong Learning Institute partners with many organizations in and around the community, including, but not limited to, the St. Augustine Historical Society, Peña-Peck House and The Women’s Exchange of St. Augustine, Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, Fort Matanzas National Monument, Minorcan Studies Project, The St. Augustine Lighthouse and Station, Governor’s House, St. Johns Regional Audubon, St. Augustine Film Society, The Lightner Museum, The St. Augustine Art Association (STAAA), and St. Augustine Farmer’s Market and Night Market.
