DEAR FLAGLER FRIENDS,
As I reflect on a wonderful year filled with celebrations and reconnecting, I am thrilled to share the latest developments and future plans for Flagler College. Over the past three years as President, I have had the privilege of engaging with many of you to learn from your remarkable experiences at, and connections to, Flagler. Your stories inspire us to preserve and enhance the legacy of this unique institution.
Flagler College has always stood at the intersection of history and future innovation – a place where our historic roots provide a foundation for forward-thinking growth. In just over 50 years, we have grown into one of the South's top regional colleges, earning accolades for our exceptional undergraduate teaching and value. This blend of tradition and progress is a cornerstone of our mission.
We continue our commitment to strengthening Flagler's legacy through the Five Star Plan. Through this comprehensive strategy, we have made great strides in upgrading our facilities, integrating advanced technology, enhancing campus life and enriching student experiences. Central to this initiative is the extensive restoration of Ponce Hall, with the east wing already completed and the west wing renovation underway.
Our efforts extend beyond Ponce Hall with new additions such as the Dock on the San Sebastian River for research and exploration and the cozy fire pits behind the Ringhaver Student Center enhancing our campus environment. The Institute for Classical and Core Education, the Flagler Sophomore High Impact Practice (FlagSHIP) and the introduction of a biology major with a new modular science building are further examples of our commitment to academic excellence and innovation.
This period of transformation is made possible through the incredible generosity of our supporters. In October, we launched the Flagler Forward campaign, aiming to raise $100 million with substantial contributions already secured. This campaign will ensure that we continue to provide an exceptional education and experience for our students, faculty and staff.
We are on the brink of an exciting new chapter in the College’s history, and I invite you to learn more within these pages about how we are moving Flagler Forward.
SINCERELY,
