Here's what you need to know about how to request accommodations for commencement. Check back often for more information.

How to Apply
Graduates must submit an Accessibility Plan Request to the Commencement Committee no later than four weeks before the ceremony. They can do so through their personalized commencement participation form that is distributed via email.
Accessibility Parking passes and seating tickets will be distributed to graduates during the Mandatory Commencement Clearance events on April 22, 23, and 24. Additional passes and tickets will be available at the Commencement Rehearsal on May 9 at 4 p.m.

Accessibility maps and guides will be available on the commencement website to assist with navigation in April.
On the event day, an Accessibility Help Desk will be located at the venue to address any last-minute needs.

Accessible Parking
We are pleased to offer special parking for students with reduced mobility, limited stamina, medical concerns, or using a wheelchair, walker, or scooter.
Parking passes for the designated accessible lot must be requested through the Commencement Committee in advance.
Seating Accommodations
Reserved seating near the stage or exits will be arranged for graduates with accessibility needs.
Companion seating is available for one guest or personal care assistant.
Procession and Stage Accommodations
Alternative procession routes for students using wheelchairs or mobility aids.
Adjustable ramps or lifts will be available for stage access.
Additional Support:
On-site staff assistance will be available to ensure smooth navigation and access.
Accessibility maps detailing parking, entrances, and seating will be provided.
ASL Interpretation During the Ceremony:
Professional ASL interpreters will be present on-site to interpret all speeches, announcements, and ceremony proceedings.
Interpreters will be positioned near the stage in clear view of the student seating area.
Accessible Seating for Students:
Students will be seated in reserved areas with a direct line of sight to interpreters.
Optional companion seating available for a personal support person if needed.
Stage Accommodations:
Interpreters will assist with graduate name announcements during the stage-crossing moment to ensure full inclusion.
Pre-Ceremony and Post-Ceremony Communication:
ASL interpreters will be available before and after the ceremony to assist students with event navigation, interactions with staff, and other communications as needed.
Live Captioning Support:
Real-time captions for names’ of students crossing the stage will be displayed on large screens as an additional communication support tool.
Accessible Parking:
We are pleased to offer special parking for guests needing accessible accommodations.
