Health Insurance Coverage
Here are some things to know about Health Insurance coverage and additional insurance options.
Insurance Requirements
Insurance Requirements
Beginning with the 2026 – 2027 academic year, Flagler College will no longer offer a college-sponsored health insurance plan for domestic students.
In addition, domestic students with health insurance coverage from another source will no longer be required to submit a health insurance waiver. Read more about the changes below, or use the link below to a medical insurance guide for students for additional information.
This change is designed to provide students and families with greater flexibility when selecting healthcare coverage. We recognize that every student's healthcare needs are different and encourage students to choose a plan that best fits their needs, preferred providers, and budget.
While Flagler College will no longer offer a sponsored health insurance plan or require waiver submissions, we strongly encourage all students to maintain adequate health insurance coverage throughout their enrollment. Starting in the Fall:
- Flagler College will no longer offer a college-sponsored health insurance plan for domestic students.
- Domestic students will no longer be required to submit a health insurance waiver.
- Students and families will be responsible for securing their own health insurance coverage.
The College recognizes that students and families have a variety of healthcare needs and insurance preferences. By eliminating the college-sponsored plan and waiver requirement, students will have greater flexibility to:
- Select coverage that best meets their individual healthcare needs.
- Maintain existing insurance plans and provider networks.
- Choose coverage options that align with their budget and circumstances.
