Five Star Plan: Campus Enhancements

Creating the very best campus experience brings us all together as one Saints community. Through the Five Star Plan, we’ve made significant strides in enhancing our campus environment and creating spaces that foster connection, well-being, and a vibrant student life.

Completed Projects

We are excited to share the completion of several key projects that have significantly enriched the campus experience.

They include:

  • Kayak Launch: The kayak launch and dock have become a recreation and scientific research hub. Through a partnership with the Environmental Science Program and Campus Recreation, students can explore nature by water, engage in scientific studies, and even participate in activities like sunset yoga and fishing at no cost.
  • Fire Pits: Our newly installed fire pits provide perfect gathering spots for students to relax, socialize, and enjoy the outdoors. These spaces have been thoughtfully designed with comfortable seating and amenities to enhance the student experience.
  • Basketball Court: The addition of a basketball court offers students a new way to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a fantastic space where students can engage in friendly competition, exercise, and build community.
  • Ponce Loggias: The restoration and enhancement of the Ponce Loggias have provided students with more beautiful and functional outdoor spaces, perfect for study sessions, social gatherings, or simply enjoying the historic charm of our campus.
  • Bento Sushi in the Student Center Bistro: The addition of Bento Sushi to our Student Center Bistro has been a hit with students, offering fresh, healthy dining options that cater to diverse tastes.
  • Health and Wellness Initiatives: Flagler College has launched comprehensive Health and Wellness initiatives to foster holistic well-being. These initiatives provide students with resources, educational tools, and support to cultivate mind, body, and spirit wellness. Our approach emphasizes community well-being, encouraging students to connect, engage, and contribute to the wellness of the entire Flagler community.

Upcoming Projects

Our commitment to enhancing the campus experience continues with exciting upcoming projects designed to further enrich the student environment:

College’s New Brand Identity Guide and Toolkit: We’re launching a new brand identity guide and toolkit to unify our communications and strengthen the Flagler College brand. This guide will ensure consistent messaging across all platforms, solidifying our presence locally and globally. 

As part of this effort, we’re introducing environmental branding across campus to visually reinforce our identity, enhance school spirit, foster belonging, and elevate the student experience.

Improve Campus Landscaping: We will enhance campus landscaping to further beautify our surroundings and create inviting outdoor spaces for study, relaxation, and socializing. These enhancements will include new plantings, improved walkways, and more green spaces that reflect the natural beauty of St. Augustine and our historic campus.
