Whitney Shafer
Whitney Shafer, originally from Tampa, Florida, graduated from Flagler College in 2007. Prior to returning to her alma mater, Whitney lived in New York City working in luxury hospitality, where she helped open the global flagship Park Hyatt New York and built a reputation for delivering Forbes Five-Star service. Throughout her hospitality career, she cultivated relationships with local businesses and attractions, developed customized VIP experiences, and specialized in guest relations and creating memorable experiences that fostered lasting loyalty.
As Director of Alumni Engagement, Whitney provides strategic leadership for the College’s alumni programs and initiatives. She develops long-term engagement strategies, oversees departmental operations and budgeting, manages the Alumni Board of Directors, and supervises the Alumni Engagement team. Whitney works closely with campus partners to create opportunities for alumni involvement through events, volunteerism, mentorship, and philanthropy. She is committed to strengthening alumni affinity for Flagler College and ensuring graduates remain connected to the institution throughout their lives
Professional Profile
Whitney graduated from Flagler in 2007 with a degree in Theatre Arts. During her time as a student, Whitney was a tour guide at Flagler's Legacy and, upon graduating, became a member of the College Relations team. Whitney spent the last five years in New York City working in luxury hospitality as a Concierge. She is thrilled to be back at her alma mater as Director of Alumni Engagement and looks forward to serving the College and its alumni.
