Samuel Aye-Gboyin

Assistant Professor, Visual Arts

Samuel Aye-Gboyin is an Assistant Professor of Visual Arts at Flagler College. He holds an MFA in Studio Art (Art & Technology) from the University of Florida and brings a global perspective shaped by his diverse background and artistic practice. His work spans drawing, photography, video, and multidisciplinary media, reflecting a commitment to innovation and creative exploration. At Flagler, he is eager to engage students in meaningful dialogue and contribute to the college’s evolving vision of contemporary art.

Research

Samuel’s research explores intersections of technology, visual narrative, and diasporic identity, with a focus on African-influenced media practices. His current projects examine how digital image-making, across photography, video, and experimental cinema, can explore concepts of “home” in transnational contexts. His writing and projects have been featured in academic and arts publications.
