Dr. Matt Wilson is a successful speaker, educator, fundraiser, consultant, and connector with over 20 years of experience working directly with athletes, sport teams, athletic administrations, and executives.
Professional Profile
As an educator, Dr. Wilson brings over 20 years of college Sport Managment teaching experience to Flagler. Professor Wilson served nine years as Associate Professor/Sport Business Program Director at Stetson University. Dr. Wilson oversaw the Sport Business program's growth and helped place numerous students in professional/college sport organizations, graduate school programs, and internships. Most recently, Dr. Wilson served as a Visiting Sport Management Instructor at the University of North Florida.
Dr. Wilson's teaching effectiveness has been supplemented with professional industry experience having served as Senior Director of Athletic Philanthropy at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. His work helped to create multiple new fundraising initiatives, drive new endowed/term scholarship growth and execute multiple six and seven figure naming rights campaigns.
In addition, Dr. Wilson served as Executive Director of a Division I NIL Collective where he managed all day-to-day Collective business operations and growth opportunities.
Lastly, Dr. Wilson has built a successful consulting business focusing on the development and customization of leadership, communication, team building, and NIL educational workshops that assist individuals, companies, and organizations successfully navigate the college athletic landscape.

Research
Dr. Wilson's research interests focus on various aspects of intercollegiate athletics. His coaching contract research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and featured in the USA Today, Time Magazine, Sport Business Journal, Sporting News, Seattle Times, Toronto Star, Scholastic Coach, and Inside Higher Ed.

A former college and professional baseball player, Dr. Wilson completed his doctoral work at the University of Georgia and his undergraduate/graduate work at Georgia Southern University.
Dr. Wilson and his wife Lisa, a Division II Head Women's Basketball coach, reside in Florida with their son Rocco.
