Professional Profile

Holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington.

Spent 30 years in the automotive industry in numerous roles, including marketing, sales, advertising, training, original equipment (OE), key account management, purchasing, and demand planning. These experiences provide a backdrop for the classes I teach.  What I teach are not only textbook concepts, but how those concepts look and work in the business world.

Further, served as a U.S. Army officer, tours of duty include Germany (2nd Cavalry Regiment), Ft. Bragg, NC (82nd Airborne Division), and Afghanistan (101st Airborne Division). As an Army officer, awarded the Bronze Star, Combat Action Badge, Parachute School, Arctic Warfare School, Combat Advisor Course, Captain’s Career Course, and Master Resilience Course.

Writes articles of an automotive trade journal on business topics, including keeping customers, negotiating, trust, leadership, and resilience.  Also authored three Op-Ed articles for The Washington Post, and three articles for Reader’s Digest: all of which were reprinted in dozens of media outlets around the world.  Authored two books.

Flagler courses taught include Introduction to Business, International Marketing, Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, and history courses for Flagler’s Lifelong Learning program.

Originally from Ohio, the “life bus” has made 11 unique stops pursuing a business and military career: Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, Florida, Afghanistan, and Germany-several destinations visited twice.

There are only three truly unique cities in Florida; St. Augustine is one of them. Flagler College contributes heavily to the color and flavor of St. Augustine.  There is no place like Flagler College!
