
Kathryn Catron
Professional Profile
As an educator, Prof. Catron brings over 20 years of teaching experience to Flagler. She holds a master’s degree in communication and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Florida. Prof. Catron taught at five different private colleges and public universities throughout Florida. Her areas of expertise include public relations, advertising and speech communication. Most recently, Prof. Catron served as an Adjunct Instructor at Flagler College and St. Johns River State College.
In addition to teaching, Prof. Catron has more than 35 years of professional experience in corporate communications and marketing, with expertise in public relations, media relations, publicity, advertising, crisis communication and social media. She has worked in sports and entertainment as Manager of Publicity for Daytona International Speedway and a consultant for Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach. Her positions in government include the City of DeLand and Volusia County Schools. Tourism and non-profit also make up her professional practice.
