Five Star Plan
Campus-wide enhancements are necessary to continue Flagler College’s legacy of providing its students with a one-of-kind college experience.
Creating the very best campus experience brings us all together as one Saints community.
Outdoor Community Spaces
Whether it be a club coming together for an event, or a small group of neighboring students gathering informally, these outdoor spaces serve as another outlet for community building, reflection, and comfortable living.
Kayak Launch - OPENING FALL 2022!
The addition of a dock, kayak launch, and kayaks will significantly enhance the student experience through a partnership with the Environmental Science Program and Campus Recreation. The kayak launch area will be utilized for scientific research, adding to our commitment to educate the whole student, both body and mind. Our Campus Recreation team is currently working with experts to determine recreational usage such as fishing from the dock and yoga at sunset. Finally, we will offer training and resources for students interested in using campus kayaks, so they feel confident to explore nature by water outside of Flagler College.
Fire Pits and Grills
The College will be identifying an area of campus to build a fenced-in area for a fire pit. This recreational area will be designed with the student's experience in mind with furniture and amenities to enjoy their time around the warmth of the fire. In addition, BBQ grills will be placed around campus for students to be able to grill various items for their enjoyment.
While there is always something to do on campus or in town, sometimes it’s nice to have access to a basketball court that brings together an active lifestyle and the fresh air, so we are actively looking at how to bring that feature to campus.
Health and Wellness
Flagler College is committed to fostering an institutional culture of holistic wellness where every individual has an opportunity to transform their mind, body, and spirit. By providing access to resources, educational tools, and support, and an environment that is conducive to these efforts, we strive to empower each member of our community to cultivate personal wellness values that will last throughout and beyond their time at Flagler. Community well-being is the sense of engagement and connection one has with where they live and a feeling of both safety and pride in one’s community. Striving for well-being in this dimension involves connecting with groups (formal and informal), as well as the Flagler community as a whole. Strong community well-being means one takes ownership of their own wellness and contributes to the wellness of others.
