FDLE Registry Notification

The federal Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act (Public Law No. 106-386 §1601), which went into effect on October 28, 2000, requires each state to provide information regarding registered sex offenders to the local law enforcement agency with jurisdiction where an institution of higher education is located. The law also requires institutions of higher education to issue a statement advising the campus community where state law enforcement agency information concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained. Florida state law requires a person designated as a sexual predator or offender to register with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The FDLE is then required to notify the local law enforcement agency where the registrant resides, or attends or is employed by an institution of higher learning. For more information, visit Florida’s sexual offender and predator homepage. Or, you may contact the Florida Department of Law Enforcement directly at 1-888-357-7332.
