Flagler professor builds initiative to digitally document St. Augustine history
When Associate Professor of History, Kelly Enright, first started teaching at Flagler ten years ago, her hope was that one day she could find a hands-on approach to educating her students about the past. Passionate about the many stories St. Augustine’s past holds, she was inspired to develop a way for her students to creatively engage with this history.

Flagler Staff Spotlight - Jud Damon
After his Hall of Fame college career as pitcher and captain of the University of Pennsylvania baseball team, Jud Damon began his profession in collegiate athletics. Over the years, he has served as athletics administrator or coach at institutions in the NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and NCCAA. In addition, Damon has held positions in front office management with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos professional baseball teams.
Flagler Staff Spotlight: Donn Garby
Donn Garby, assistant director of housing operations, joined the Student Affairs department in the fall of 2021. Garby is a Class of 2016 Flagler alumnus who served as SGA President during his time here. He was also the Assistant Program Director for the Campus Activities Board, Founder of the U.S. Military Veterans Club on campus, and an ambassador in the Office of Admissions among numerous other extracurricular positions held. Following his time at Flagler, Garby earned his master's degree in higher education/ higher education administration at Old Dominion University. Garby then earned his Doctor of Philosophy in higher education/ higher education administration from Rowan University.
Flagler Staff Spotlight: Steven Griffin
Before coming to Flagler to work as a campus safety and security officer, retiree Steven Griffin served as a "Seabee" in the US Navy and spent 30 years working as a mailman. After retiring about 14 years ago, Griffin spent some time bartending in Hawaii and then came to Florida where he worked as a ranger at Faver-Dykes State Park.
One-day conference, "Panama and its Indigenous People," coming to Flagler in October
This fall, Flagler College is proud to host a one-day conference, “Panama and its Indigenous People,” as a part of National Hispanic Heritage month on Oct. 15 across various campus locations. The conference is coordinated by Dr. Eugenia Charoni, associate professor of romance languages at Flagler.

Philanthropic support aids Flagler in launching inaugural lacrosse season and new field
In a major milestone for Flagler College Athletics, men’s and women's lacrosse began their inaugural seasons this month with the opening of the new Lacrosse and Intramurals Field at the Athletics Complex. The last time Flagler added a sport was in August 2014 with men’s and women’s indoor track and field.
