The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is located in the Wiley Hall Lobby (faculty lounge and work area) and Classroom 102 (in-person workshop location).
The CTL office is located in Wiley 101. To enter this building from the side entrance, you will need an active Flagler College ID. The front door is locked. If you need assistance, please email ctl@flagler.edu to make arrangements.
THE CTL offers a variety of resources and services for all faculty and instructional staff. Some of the most common services include (but are not limited to):
- Regularly scheduled Professional Development (face-to-face workshops, online seminars, and self-paced asynchronous courses).
- Book clubs (face-to-face and virtual options)
- Informal Teaching Observations (pre-observation done via email or in person, post-observation done via Zoom or in person (up to 30 min, each). Customized strategies and resources provided. No formal write-up provided.)
- Formal Teaching Observations (requires extensive pre- and post-observation meetings (up to 1 hour, each) and includes a formal write-up of the observation if needed for promotion or an annual review requirement– limited availability).
- 1:1 planning and course design appointments
- Team-building events and workshops
- Inter-departmental collaboration and workshop development

Yes! All conversations and documents related to individual consultations and in-class observations are confidential and will not be used in the official merit and tenure review evaluation process.
To request an individual consultation or observation, contact ctl@flagler.edu. Requests are limited and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Mentors are typically matched each August. However, you may be asked to mentor mid-year if needed.
The CTL is more than happy to assist in Canvas Course Design; however, it is recommended that you first contact our Online Learning Specialists at online@flagler.edu. For technical support, contact Canvas Support (instructions here) or enroll in the Flagler College training resource for faculty using Canvas for face-to-face and online learning.
