What is your favorite course to teach and why?
I love all the courses I teach. But, if I had to choose one, it would be Social Entrepreneurship as the teaching of this course allowed me to align my passions for helping to heal our world with my teaching.
Tell us about your area of expertise.
I don’t feel I am an expert in any field as life is a continuation of learning, transforming and growing. Fields I am passionate about include: women, gender, spirituality, and gender-based violence; conscious-based and regenerative leadership and self-awareness creating a culture of “we” instead of “me”; social impact: social and environmental justice; essential mindsets of the circular leader; conscious inclusion and the responsible leader; and strategies to operate with responsible and sustainable business practices that benefit people and the planet.
What sparked your interest in this area/topic?
I consider myself a futurist. I am always looking to create and develop new business models that put mindsets before strategy and serves for the betterment of society. Seeing that the future needed leaders who were conscious of their decisions and regenerative in their practices, I began to teach about sustainability and the importance of placing people and the planet at the forefront of our decision-making. My moto is an environmental injustice is a social injustice. The two are inextricably connected.

Progressive, Regenerative, Transformational.
What sets the program/ major you instruct apart at Flagler and from similar programming at peer institutions?
The Social Entrepreneurship Major is an interdisciplinary major that exposes students to different areas of study based on the track chosen. For example, there are four tracks; Community Health, Sustainability and Historic Preservation, Global Impact, and Arts for Social Change.
What is one thing that no one would guess about you?
I am a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
