Still Figuring it Out?
Why Start Undecided?
It can be hard to figure out your future when you're first taking that big leap to college. Starting out undecided is more common than you might think. Even if you land on a major and it's not quite your fit, there's no harm in trying something different. With smaller class sizes, you'll get a chance to really dive in and get a feel for what interests you. Learn more about how our Discovery program works below to see if it's the right fit for you.
- You're not alone. Nearly one in three college students starts undecided. You can even switch your major if you change your mind.
- Test-drive different fields. With 40+ majors and a Core Curriculum designed for exploration, you'll get to try out different areas of study while working closely with your advisors to create a plan for graduation.
- Your future, your way. It's all up to you. If you want to dive into psychology, tackle business, explore natural science, or create something entirely new, we're here to help you every step of the way.

How It Works
Once you've enrolled, you'll have a dedicated advisor who helps you explore your interests, career options, and personal strengths.
Transfer Students: Transferring in and still trying to plan what's next? That's okay too! You'll still get the full experience working closely with your advisor to find the best fit for you. You'll work with a CACE (Center for Advising and Core Experience) advisor until you determine what you want to major in. Still have questions? Check out our FAQs and find contact information here.
PLEASE NOTE: You will typically be required to choose a program to major in once you've earned 60 or more credit hours.
Part of your journey will take you through the Core Experience. You'll dive into different subjects, including business, science, arts, and humanities, allowing you to get a taste of everything and further focus on what you want to try next.
Want to learn more about yourself beyond campus? Sometimes taking a journey can help you figure yourself out. Find out more about our FlagSHIP and Study Abroad programs to take you to places you never thought possible all while receiving credits.

On a laptop screen, Flagler College’s campus begins to take shape one digital block at a time. Historic buildings, walkways, and gathering spaces are carefully reconstructed inside Minecraft as students collaborate to transform a familiar physical environment into a detailed, to-scale virtual world.
Students in Dr. Lisa Van Zwoll’s FlagSHIP course, Visual Storytelling, Reality TV, and Memoir, spent the JanTerm grappling with questions that sit at the core of reality media culture: where truth lives in storytelling, who shapes it, and what happens when lived experience becomes content.
As climbers around the world watched Alex Honnold scale Taipei 101 during a recent Netflix live stream, a similar sense of ambition was already taking hold much closer to home. At Flagler College, a growing group of students is finding its own vertical challenge through the Rock-Climbing Club.
When Flagler senior Maddie Nilan dives into the water, the world goes quiet. It always has. Long before she became president of Flagler College’s Deaf Awareness Club, before she transferred to Flagler in search of a campus that felt like home, and before she stepped onto an international stage wearing red, white, and blue, Nilan found her rhythm in the pool.
