Professional Profile

Dr. Holly Donohoe earned a Ph.D. in Human Geography from the University of Ottawa in Canada - where she was raised. She specializes in tourism and leisure management with a dedicated focus on sustainability. She is a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) and has over 20 years of professional and academic experience in the realms of corporate responsibility, social entrepreneurship and nonprofit management, governance and policy, tourism management and marketing, and parks and protected areas. She has traveled the world, written policy for national parks, cities, and nonprofit organizations, organized large-scale events in Asia, Europe, and North America, and published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and books.  She is Internationally known for creative yet critical social science and transdisciplinary approaches to tackling some of the most complex problems facing our world today. She is an award-winning educator who is recognized for her student-centered, experiential, and international teaching and learning practices.
