Summer Music Education Institute
Music Literacy: More than simply notes on a page!
Hello Music Educators,
I’m sorry to write and say that we lost our grant funding this year for our annual Summer Music Education Institute at Flagler College. For the past 4 years we have hosted Drs. Carol Krueger and Hillary Ridgley as they have walked us through a sequence of teaching Music Literacy prioritizing a “sound-before-sight-before-theory” approach. Because of the grant, we have been able to offer this free of charge to K12 Music Educators from around the country here on our campus. In an effort to keep that model moving forward, we have decided to take a hiatus for a year from hosting this event as we seek further/other funding opportunities. We understand this is not ideal, and we are disappointed, but we look forward to welcoming back Drs. Krueger and Ridgley for future events.
Thank you for understanding.
Sincerely,
Kip Taisey
