If an evacuation order is issued, all students should refer to and implement their evacuation plans. Please be mindful to take essential belongings, including chargers, textbooks, computers, etc.
The safest option is to evacuate to a family member or friend's home that is outside the evacuation zone, as they can offer more comfort and stability during the storm. Public shelters should only be used as a last resort when other options are unavailable.
If you're unsure of where to go, we recommend planning ahead and making arrangements now. For those who need to use a shelter, local authorities will provide information on shelter locations and availability. Stay informed through official updates and prioritize your safety when making evacuation decisions.
Visit the St. Johns County Emergency Management website for a list of available shelters, including pet-friendly and special needs shelters.
