What is your central passion(s), and how do you plan to pursue them after graduation? How have your experiences at Flagler shaped these passions?

My passion is legal work and fighting for those who do not have the ability to fight for themselves. Wrongful incarcerations have been at the heart of most of my work here at Flagler. I will be attending law school post-graduation. The Flagler pre-law program and its professors have been the main contributors to my passions and dedication to the law. They have encouraged me to explore the law and dive into the complexity that comes with studying the law.

Who or what inspired your passion in this area?

I took a Constitutional Law course in my first semester at Flagler as part of the Honors Program, and it totally changed my outlook on what I wanted to do. I did not come into Flagler thinking I wanted to be a lawyer. I wanted to work for the FBI. Then one day, as I was sitting in class, I realized that the law had my heart; it has ever since.

Can you share a memorable story from your time at Flagler that always makes you smile? What made this moment special for you?

I think one memory that I have of my time at Flagler College is when a Flagler student and her family that I gave a tour to through Admissions came up to me during summer Orientation and thanked me, saying that I was the reason she decided to come to Flagler. It was so special because it felt like I made an impact on someone else’s journey.

Which academic resources, experiences, or mentors at Flagler were most valuable to you, and how did they contribute to your success?

Jacob Harding, my President’s Leadership Academy mentor and Flagler alumnus, has been one of the biggest blessings I have been given while at Flagler. Meeting him at the start of my junior year, Jake has been an outlet for me to be creative, scared, and most importantly, myself. Helping me navigate the law school admissions process, he was a positive guide for me and a motivation to never give up on my dreams.

Josh Behl- A professor since my freshman year, Dr. Behl has been committed to my academic experiences, encouraging and supporting me in all my endeavors. He has been there from the start, and he has come to mean a lot to me. I owe him a lot.

Being a part of the Flagler College Ambassadors literally changed my life. I came into Flagler being super shy and unwilling to open up. If you know me now, you know that is no longer true. I will forever be grateful to Admissions for their continuous support and the opportunities they have provided me to connect with students and their families.

The Learning Resource Center has been extremely valuable in growing as a student. Having a space to go to learn from other students and do your work in a safe space is so special. Big shout out to Dr. Van Zwoll and Farrah!

What advice or lesson would you give to your freshman year self about the college experience?

The biggest piece of advice I would give my freshman year self is to dive into each experience you are offered with your whole heart. Whether it be in friendships, leadership, or academics, every single person and experience that you will meet/have during college will directly contribute to your story. The most valuable experiences you will have in college are the ones that have been the most unexpected or the ones that seem the most challenging. More than anything, I would tell myself that college will be even better than I think it will be.

In the Flagler spirit, how do you hope to make history after graduation? Share any exciting experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up.
