It can be love at first sight when you visit a new place. But when you’re living here, it can be easy to take the history and charm of St. Augustine for granted. This Valentine’s Day, take time to fall in love with your home again and rediscover the excitement of your first visit.

After graduating from Flagler College, many alumni choose to stay in the region, pursuing their passions and making the community an even more vibrant place to live.

Lucas Scotch, coordinator of marketing and communications for the Division of Continuing Education, graduated with honors from Flagler College in 2022.

When students show up for Flagler’s Advanced Child Psychology course, it’s rarely in a campus classroom. More often they’re found at local preschools where they’re gaining real-world experience while serving as a resource for students and teachers.

Flagler College seniors gathered for an intimate ceremony recognizing how far they’ve come, and their path into the future during the Fall 2022 Baccalaureate.

Most students only get the chance to live in Ponce Hall for one or two years during their time at Flagler, but Trustee and donor Rick Groux was lucky enough to spend the entirety of his college experience living there.

Through off-campus adventures, Professor Sam McMillan hopes his students can use experiences in “the wilderness,” to gain new perspectives about the topics covered in his class.

Donn Garby, assistant director of housing operations, joined the Student Affairs department in the fall of 2021. Garby is a Class of 2016 Flagler alumnus who served as SGA President during his time here. He was also the Assistant Program Director for the Campus Activities Board, Founder of the U.S. Military Veterans Club on campus, and an ambassador in the Office of Admissions among numerous other extracurricular positions held. Following his time at Flagler, Garby earned his master's degree in higher education/ higher education administration at Old Dominion University. Garby then earned his Doctor of Philosophy in higher education/ higher education administration from Rowan University.
