How to Apply
College selection is a two-way street. You want to select the best college for your needs, and we want to select the students who help us meet our mission of education, career preparation, and support of informed, responsible citizenship.
Here’s how our part of the selection process works:
- We’ll look at your high school transcripts and test scores.
- We’ll look at your extracurricular activities to understand more about you.
- We’ll ask you to express yourself in an essay.
- We’ll ask you to share recommendations from others.
Our Decision Plans
Is Flagler College your first choice? The Admissions Committee gives preference to students who have selected Flagler as their top college. To identify these students, the College has developed a voluntary Early Decision Plan for freshmen and transfers who are applying for the fall semester.
These applications will be reviewed before Regular Decision applications.
Dates you need to know for the Early Decision application:
| Deadlines and Notifications | |
|---|---|
| November 1st | Early Decision Application Due |
| December 15th | Notification of Admission Decision |
| January 15th | Enrollment Deposit Due for ED Applicants |
This agreement is binding, which means students admitted under the Early Decision Plan are required to withdraw applications submitted to other colleges and to confirm their decision to attend Flagler by remitting an advance deposit of $200 and completed enrollment forms by January 15. Advance deposits are credited to the student’s tuition and fees and are non-refundable.
In addition to the advance deposit, boarding students are required to remit a $200 deposit as a room reservation fee. This fee is also due on January 15.
Boarding students may submit a single check for $400 to cover both the advance deposit and room reservation fee, rather than submitting two separate checks.
Back To TopFor students who are unsure of their first choice college or university, the Flagler offers a Regular Decision Plan with a deadline of March 1. If you apply under the Regular Decision Plan, you understand that Early Decision applicants are given preference as the fall class is selected
Dates you need to know for Regular Decision application:
| Deadlines and Notifications | |
|---|---|
| March 1st | Regular Decision Application Due |
| March 31st | Notification of Admission Decision |
| May 1st | Enrollment Deposit Due for RD Applicants |
Students accepted during the Regular Decision phase must confirm their decision to attend Flagler by remitting an advance deposit of $200 and completed enrollment forms by May 1. Advance deposits are credited to the student’s tuition and fees and are non-refundable.
In addition to the advance deposit, boarding students are required to remit a $200 deposit as a room reservation fee. This fee is also due on May 1.
Boarding students may submit a single check for $400 to cover both the advance deposit and the room reservation fee, rather than submitting two separate checks.
Back To TopFor students applying for the spring semester, the Office of Admissions begins notifying applicants on a rolling basis after the fall class has closed and continues admitting students until the class fills.
Space for the January semester is limited. Please be advised that students desiring on-campus housing should complete their applications early.
