What We Do
What We Do
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a tutoring center by Flagler students, for Flagler students. Highly trained peer tutors are available for appointment-based, one-on-one, and small-group tutoring and are supervised by Lab Coordinators who are experts in their diverse fields. The LRC exists to support students in their coursework, providing dedicated academic assistance and a convenient place to study.

The Academic Success Lab helps you develop effective test-taking, content reading, time management, speaking, studying, and listening strategies. Help with critical thinking skills and memorization techniques is also available.
This lab offers assistance in:

The English for Academic Purposes Support Center, coordinated by Professor Lauren Tivey, offers peer and faculty tutoring to support multilingual learners’ English literacy skills. The full spectrum of language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking), will be addressed, with an emphasis on written communication.
This lab offers assistance in:
- The conventions of academic English
- The rhetorical and organizational features of college-level expository writing
- The accepted documentation and attribution standards used in North America
The Math and Business Lab, offers peer tutoring for all Flagler math courses, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and business calculus. GRE and LSAT prep, and Course Compass and calculator setup are also available.

The Science Learning Lab, coordinated by Professor John Wooldridge, provides specialized peer tutoring in the natural sciences to help you understand scientific principles, solve problems, and write lab reports.

The Language Lab helps with your language learning and fluency in French and Spanish. Tutors can help you with all aspects of language learning, including speaking, listening, writing, and grammar.

The Writing Center, directed by Professor Deborah Teague (Dteague@flagler.edu) provides an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with either a peer tutor or a member of the English Department faculty. You’re encouraged to bring any type of writing assignment for help with all parts of the writing process from brainstorming to final editing.
