What We Do

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is a tutoring center by Flagler students, for Flagler students. Highly trained peer tutors are available for appointment-based, one-on-one, and small-group tutoring. The LRC exists to support students in their coursework, providing dedicated academic assistance and a convenient place to study.

Tutoring Topics and Services

The Academic Success Lab helps you develop effective test-taking, content reading, time management, speaking, studying, and listening strategies. Help with critical thinking skills and memorization techniques is also available.

Introducing a new service from the Learning Resource Center: Accountability!

Do you have time between classes you want to make the most of? Are you trying to overcome the tendency to procrastinate? Do you want to study in a comfortable, productive space? Keep yourself on track by scheduling a session at the Accountability Center.

Because the Accountability Center is located in the LRC,  you can even access tutors when questions arise or if you want to explore effective study strategies. Simply check in at the front desk of the LRC and find a comfortable area to work in. After you've settled in, work on whatever you want to knock off your to-do list. 

Prioritizing study time has never been easier.

If you intend to focus on a specific course, let our intake specialist know. Each week, visit reports are sent to faculty members. That means your professor will know about your dedication to succeeding in their course.

The Math and Business Lab, offers peer tutoring for all Flagler math courses, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and business calculus. GRE and LSAT prep, and Course Compass and calculator setup are also available.

The Science Learning Lab provides specialized peer tutoring in the natural sciences to help you understand scientific principles, solve problems, and write lab reports.

Tutoring in the Disciplines supports diverse academic areas, from graphic design and psychology to history and education. The current areas covered in this center are:

Don't see your subject? Contact the LRC, and we may be able to help. Our vibrant and highly trained staff come from diverse majors and minors. We may just have someone on staff who can support you!

 

The Language Lab helps with your language learning and fluency in French and Spanish. Tutors can help you with all aspects of language learning, including speaking, listening, writing, and grammar.

*Note: American Sign Language (ASL) Tutoring is available in the ASL Lab at 322 Kenan Hall. 

The Writing Center, directed by Professor Deborah Teague (Dteague@flagler.edu) provides an opportunity for you to work one-on-one with either a peer tutor or a member of the English Department faculty. You’re encouraged to bring any type of writing assignment for help with all parts of the writing process from brainstorming to final editing.
