Jorge Herrera

Associate Professor of Business

Professional Profile

Professor Jorge M. Herrera earned his Doctor of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and an M.B.A. in Management with a double major in economics from Benedictine University. He has extensive experience teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and in corporate environments. 

He has taught college courses in countries such as The Bahamas, Colombia, Israel, Jamaica, and Panama. He teaches International Business, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics, and Ethical Controversies. He has published in the Journal of Business and Economics Research, the International Journal of Applied Management and Technology, and the U.S. Journal of Pro-Change International and published a chapter on ethical theories in a book titled, "Best Human Resources Practices in Latin America."

Dr. Herrera has developed and managed undergraduate programs in multiple national and international locations and has been instrumental in developing high-impact distance education programs. In addition, he was the founder and director of the Adult and Continuing Education program at Flagler College in 2015. His entrepreneurial experience includes developing new business entities externally and within organizations. 

Dr. Herrera is committed to student success in college, and in addition to his teaching responsibilities, he serves as the coordinator for the International Business program, advisor for the Society for Advancement of Management (SAM Club), and is the academic advisor for the Cross-Country and Track teams at Flagler College. He is also a lifelong runner.

Dr. Herrera previously taught at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Nova Southeastern University, and St. John River State College.
