Describe your central passion(s) and how you hope to carry that into your post-grad plans:

I enjoy working with non-profits and storytelling through videos, I hope that while I attend American University of Paris, I can continue providing organizations with videos that showcase what they do and how donations help their programs.

What (or who) helped inspire your passion in this area (or areas)?

I was mentored by Phaedra Dejarnett, and she really inspired me to continue working with people and organizations that I believe can make a difference. She constantly helped me make the right choices during my undergrad and advised me on projects I was working on.

Briefly tell us the story of one stand-out memory from your time at Flagler that will always make you smile:

I would say the Black Student Union winning the Core Value award will stick with me forever. As a graduating senior you kind of worry about how your organization will do after you leave and if the work you put in during your undergrad will be remembered, but I witnessed our President start crying on stage and give the most heartwarming speech about what this award meant to them. It was the first moment that really clicked that all the work we did while at Flagler paid off and that it truly made a difference to these students. Also put me at ease that the next generations to join the organization will have that same passion as us.

What academic resources, experiences, or mentors proved most valuable throughout your Flagler experience?

I would say the Student Affairs office was the greatest asset at Flagler, everyone in that office wanted to see me succeed in my roles and I knew I could come into anyone's office to talk about anything. It was one of the few places on campus I could call a truly safe space.

What is one piece of advice or lesson you learned about the college experience that you wish you could tell your freshman year self?

My piece of advice would be to keep working with things we love. I think for about two years of my undergraduate I was working on a bunch of stuff I wasn’t truly passionate about and that kind of left me feeling burnt out, but once I broke out of that and started working with videos and pictures and in organizations that I felt passionate about, I felt reenergized at the end of most days.

Tell us about what you’re up to next! Any cool experiences, professional positions, or unique opportunities you have lined up after graduation?

I will be going to the American University of Paris to get my Masters in Global Communications. I want to continue traveling and working with non-profits on a global scale. Right now, I’m working on my French so HOPEFULLY after my two years in France I can be fluent in another language.
